A recent research report from Morgan Stanley revealed a significant decline in cryptocurrency ownership in Europe. Research into EU interns has found that Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) investments fall sharply in 2025. According to the research, the cryptocurrency preferences of young EU investors have changed dramatically. Bitcoin and Ethereum, once dominant forces among young investors, have lost their appeal, while XRP has emerged as the new dominant force. According to the research, only 12% of EU trainees currently own Bitcoin, a sharp decline from 63% in 2022. 82% of respondents said they do not own any cryptocurrencies, up from 69% in 2024. Ethereum investment has seen a similar decline, with investment in Ethereum falling from 60% in 2022 to just 7% in 2025. While Bitcoin and Ethereum experienced sharp declines, XRP reversed the trend. According to the research, XRP was the only cryptocurrency to gain momentum, with ownership rising from 0% to 5%.
