Bolivia, which has experienced a major development in its perspective on cryptocurrencies, began its turn towards crypto with the lifting of the crypto ban in June 2024. While Bolivia has taken many positive steps after allowing banks to handle Bitcoin (BTC) and stablecoin transactions, another new development has occurred. Accordingly, the Central Bank of Bolivia signed an agreement with El Salvador regarding cryptocurrencies. The Central Bank of Bolivia announced in its official statement that it has signed an agreement with El Salvador to promote the adoption of cryptocurrencies and develop related policies. It was stated that the agreement signed between the two states will come into force immediately and will be valid indefinitely. In its statement, the central bank called cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) a reliable alternative to fiat money. The bank stated that cryptocurrencies are a viable and reliable alternative to fiat currencies. Bolivia’s partnership with El Salvador attracted attention because El Salvador became the first country to make Bitcoin legal tender.
