Pi Network’s App Studio Sees Fast Growth in Web3 App Building

2 min read

The newly launched Pi Network App Studio is quickly becoming a key part of its growing ecosystem. In just a few weeks, users have built and launched over 7,900 decentralized applications (dApps), marking a rapid rise in activity. This early success demonstrates the rapid pace of the Pi community and the strong interest in developing practical tools and services on the platform. Pi Network App Studio Inspires Thousands to Build Real Apps The App Studio was first introduced during the Pi2Day 2025 Ecosystem Challenge. This challenge provided users with an opportunity to learn and utilize new tools within the Pi Network. The challenge consisted of eight steps, which guided users through various parts of the ecosystem. According to reports, more than 2.6 million people joined the challenge, and over 761,000 completed all the steps. Since the challenge began, the results have been impressive. Users have created more than 7,600 chatbot applications and over 14,100 custom apps. Approximately 34,800 people have participated in the app creation process. Notably, some of these apps are still under development or have not yet been released. This indicates that many users are not just testing the tools, but are working diligently to build apps that others can utilize. Pi Network Makes App Building Easy for Everyone One of the goals of Pi Network is to make technology simple and open to everyone. The App Studio is designed to help achieve this by using easy tools that do not require coding experience. It also uses artificial intelligence (AI) to support users as they build. Many of the existing apps cover essential topics such as health, education, productivity, and entertainment. Furthermore, another part of the ecosystem that is growing is called Ecosystem Directory Staking. This allows users to support their favorite apps by staking Pi tokens. So far, over 37.7 million Pi tokens have been staked by around 16,700 users to support more than 1,450 apps. By staking their tokens, users help give value to the most valuable apps and encourage developers to keep improving them. Requests Grow for More Control in App Studio Many users welcomed the App Studio and started using it, but not everyone was pleased. Some felt the early version didn’t give them enough control, especially when trying to build more than just basic chatbots. One well-known community member shared his thoughts on social media. He asked the Pi Core Team to add more tools and implement updates more quickly. Later, he celebrated when his health chatbot was featured on Pi Network’s official blog. This demonstrates that, despite a few limitations, the App Studio is already providing creators with a genuine opportunity to grow and gain recognition. It also aligns with Pi Network’s broader strategy to establish trust and attract more users to its expanding platform .
