Trump, VP JD Vance, and Elon Musk unite to condemn violent migrant protests

3 min read

US President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Tesla CEO Elon Musk seem to have put their differences aside to condemn the three-day-long protests in LA that broke out due to anti-immigration policies. Trump has called for Homeland Security to “liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant riots.” Trump, posting on Truth Social on June 8, coined the situation as an “invasion” and blamed “Illegal Aliens and Criminals” for what he described as violent attacks on federal agents. The president announced that he had directed Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, and Attorney General Pam Bondi to take “all such action necessary” to end the violence and “liberate Los Angeles from the Migrant Invasion.” “ Order will be restored, the Illegals will be expelled, and Los Angeles will be set free. Thank you for your attention to this matter! ” he wrote. VP Vance shared the president’s message on X, telling Americans that “the president will not tolerate rioting and violence.” 🇺🇸🇺🇸 https://t.co/cvOsEb45MH — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 9, 2025 Elon Musk then quoted Vance’s remarks with two American flag emojis, alongside comments from internet personality Jeffery Mead, who claimed Los Angeles lawmakers have failed to support federal immigration enforcement. “ ICE needs help. Enforce the law, with or without local help ,” he surmised. Protests extend after National Guard deployment What began as a few hundred demonstrators gathering in downtown Los Angeles on Friday, turned into chaos by Sunday. Protesters have lit police vehicles on fire, and riot police with the National Guard were deployed in full gear and clashed with crowds. Late Saturday, Washington sent a new federal directive to ICE mandating them to arrest at least 3,000 undocumented migrants per day. Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass has accused the Trump administration of instigating the violence. “ What we’re seeing in our city is chaos provoked by the Trump Administration ,” Bass wrote in a citywide newsletter on Sunday addressed to residents under the banner “Dear Angeleno.” She reiterated that the city had not requested federal military assistance. Yet, President Trump deployed 2,000 National Guard troops to Los Angeles over the weekend. It is the first time since 1967 that a president had sent federal troops to a US city without a formal request from the state governor. Governor Newsom condemns Federal Troop involvement Yesterday evening, California Governor Gavin Newsom said President Trump’s decision has “unlawfully deployed” federal troops, and blamed the administration for violating state sovereignty. In a public statement on X, Newsom demanded that federal troops be withdrawn immediately. “ We didn’t have a problem until Trump got involved ,” the governor noted. “ This is a serious breach of state sovereignty, inflaming tensions while pulling resources from where they’re actually needed .” Responding to the governor on Truth Social, Trump lashed out at both Governor Newsom and Mayor Bass, blaming them for the breakdown in public order. “ Governor Gavin Newscum and ‘Mayor’ Bass should apologize to the people of Los Angeles for the absolutely horrible job that they have done, ” he beckoned. pic.twitter.com/1keU3EnfnH — Elon Musk (@elonmusk) June 9, 2025 The president referred to the demonstrators as “troublemakers and insurrectionists,” and criticized California’s handling of wildfires and permitting delays. He also banned the use of masks during protests, asking: “What do these people have to hide, and why???” “ Great job by the National Guard in Los Angeles after two days of violence, clashes, and unrest. These Radical Left protests… will NOT BE TOLERATED ,” the POTUS said, praising the National Guard. Cryptopolitan Academy: Want to grow your money in 2025?
