Cryptocurrency Detective ZachXBT Reveals $11.5 Million Hack! Still No Statement From The Exchange!

Hacking incidents in the cryptocurrency market are never-ending. The latest news from Taiwan comes from a sector where a new hacking incident occurs every day. On-chain detective ZachXBT has revealed that BitoPro, a Taiwanese cryptocurrency exchange, was likely hacked on May 8, 2025, losing approximately $11.5 million. ZachXBT said in a statement on his Telegram channel that there have been suspicious outflows from the exchange’s hot wallets on multiple networks, including Tron (TRX), Ethereum (ETH), Solana (SOL), and Polygon. It was also reported that the stolen crypto assets were sold through decentralized exchanges (DEXs) and laundered through Tornado Cash and Thorchain. The funds were then either deposited into crypto mixing service Tornado Cash or bridged to Bitcoin via THORChain before being transferred to Wasabi Wallet, a privacy-focused BTC wallet. “The stolen funds were then deposited into Tornado or transferred to Wasabi via Thorchain via Bitcoin.” Although approximately 25 days have passed since the incident, no official statement has yet been made from BitoPro. *This is not investment advice.
