Blockchain forensics firm Crystal Intelligence is set to acquire Scam Alerts, a web3 fraud reporting platform developed by Whale Alert, in a move aimed at increasing fraud prevention and victim support in the crypto space. Crystal Intelligence to Acquire Whale Alert’s Scam Reporting Platform to Fight Crypto Scams Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the acquisition is expected to close by the end of May. Once completed, Scam Alerts will operate as an independent, non-commercial entity within Crystal Intelligence. “Scam victims often have no recourse,” said Navin Gupta, CEO of Crystal Intelligence and former Ripple executive. “Scam Alert gives them a way to make their voices heard.” Gupta added that every fraud report submitted through the platform contributes to a clearer understanding of fraud tactics and distribution patterns, providing critical information for law enforcement and investigators. Scam Alerts allows crypto users to report scams, helping to map and analyze fraud schemes. With this acquisition, Crystal plans to streamline fraud reporting, expand multilingual support, and create a stronger support framework for victims. The firm also plans to improve coordination with global law enforcement and local blockchain communities. “Localization means more than just language for us; it’s about cultural context, regional scam models, and trusted community partners,” said Marina Khaustova, COO of Crystal. Whale Alert will remain as an advisory partner following the acquisition and will continue to contribute expertise to the development of the platform. Crystal Intelligence says its broader goal is to help make the crypto space safer and more trustworthy. *This is not investment advice.
