Binance founder Changpeng Zhao (CZ) has bluntly denied conspiracy-laden rumors circulating on Chinese social media, calling them “nonsense” and accusing influencers of spreading misinformation for fame. In a pointed response to a claim by Chinese cryptocurrency commentator Liang Xi that CZ “works for the Fed,” Zhao addressed the allegations on X (formerly Twitter). “This is ridiculous,” CZ said. “This Chinese influencer says I worked for the FED and I’ve never been to jail. The Wall Street Journal claimed that CZ had provided information to prosecutors about Justin Sun. CZ again denied the report, saying: “They seem to forget who goes to jail and who doesn’t.
