ApeCoin Staking Moves to ApeChain With Shadow Technology, No NFT Bridging Required

The ApeCoin DAO has migrated its three NFT-based staking pools from Ethereum mainnet to ApeChain as of April 15, 2025. The migration affects the Bored Ape-only, Mutant Ape-only, and Bored Ape Kennel Club staking pools, which now utilize Yuga Labs’ new Shadow technology. Users are required to unstake and claim their ApeCoin on the Ethereum platform, bridge it to ApeChain, and then restake on the new ApeChain staking site. Shadows, which are soul-bound NFTs tied to the original Ethereum-based NFTs, will now serve as staking keys, replacing the original NFTs for staking purposes.
