Movement Network Unveils Mainnet Beta and Native Token Airdrop

2 min read

Movement Network, an Ethereum layer-2 network, has announced the unveiling of its project’s mainnet beta. The move kick-started the first phase of Movement’s infrastructure for the project. That is, deploying critical components such as follower nodes, indexers, and RPC nodes. Unique Features of Movement Movement has also launched the token generation event for the native token. According to Movement Labs, the firm behind the ecosystem, Movement has made notable achievements, such as the first blockchain developed using the Move programming language with proofs that settle on Ethereum. For clarity, Move is the same programming language used by Facebook. Other players in the crypto space that have utilized Move include Sui and Aptos networks . According to Movement Labs, the architecture facilitates improved security and rapid transaction finality via “post-confirmations.” Notably, the Move language is renowned for its safety measures. New Era for Layer-2 Solutions? This preference aims to reduce common smart contract vulnerabilities while supporting secure application development. Rushi Manche, Co-founder of Movement Labs, emphasized that introducing the MOVE language to the Ethereum Virtual Machine was strategic. He said this would transform every Move developer into an Ethereum developer. Manche insists that Movement Labs is not just creating another Layer-2 platform but expanding the ecosystem’s potential. Even though Ethereum provides security, Manche maintains the network is not a Layer-2 chain. He describes it as a fast finality rollup or a sidechain. Movement Token Airdrop Distribution and Market Impact The Movement Network Foundation oversees the project’s development and governance structure. The foundation has distributed 10 billion tokens to early users and community members. Four billion or 40% of the tokens has been assigned to community initiatives, while 10% or one billion is for the foundation. 1.75 billion tokens, or 17.5%, and 2.25 billion tokens, or 22.5%, will go to early contributors and backers, respectively. Meanwhile, the Movement Network Foundation will soon conduct an airdrop tagged the MoveDrop. MOVE is exchanging hands for $0.7873, up 18.44% in the last 24 hours. Its market capitalization stands at $1.77 billion. The post Movement Network Unveils Mainnet Beta and Native Token Airdrop appeared first on TheCoinrise.com .
