Cantor Fitzgerald says inflation rate poses significant upside risks

Cantor Fitzgerald expressed in its bi-weekly macro report on Tuesday that it expects inflation to remain a persistent challenge, highlighting that overall inflation levels carry noticeable upside risks. “We continue to believe that inflation rate has significant upside risk,” Cantor Fitzgerald said. The financial institution went on to say that it observes considerable inflation risks, especially as the Federal Reserve started its rate-cutting cycle back in September, even while month over month core inflation readings remain north of 2%. They have been above 2% for the past four years. As a result, Cantor believes equities will rally into year-end but says that the equity space will “prove to be a poor investment” over the medium term time horizon. In combating inflation, Cantor Fitzgerald indicated that it prefers both gold ( XAUUSD:CUR ) and bitcoin ( BTC-USD ) as potential investments. “Our view has been buy Bitcoin and gold as a way to play inflation theme.” For investors that share a similar mindset, highlighted below are a handful of gold and bitcoin related exchange-traded funds that can be further monitored.
